Leading with a Mindset of Inclusion Workshop | Linkage, Inc.

Leading with a Mindset of Inclusion

Organizations in the top quartile for ethnic and cultural diversity are 35% more likely to post better financial performance*. And yet, organizations continue to struggle to build cultures that truly value and appreciate difference.

How are you encouraging leaders at your organization to lead inclusively?

Linkage’s Leading with a Mindset of Inclusion Workshop is a two-module learning experience, delivered on-site, that seeks to empower leaders to create and foster cultures of inclusion.

Through experiential learning, participants test and reflect on their own unconscious biasesrecognize opportunities for inclusion, have a chance to practice inclusive leadership skills, and learn tools to reframe thinking and behaviors in more positive and impactful ways.

Leading with a Mindset of Inclusion

 Who’s it for?

The Leading with a Mindset of Inclusion Workshop is designed for leaders at all levels of the organization who are looking to gain real-world best practices and immediately begin building cultures of inclusion.

Workshop participants will:

  • Understand how bias affects the workplace, leading to lack of engagement and poor business results
  • Learn how to identify, address, and ultimately mitigate the effects of bias in the workplace
  • Gain real-world best practices to allow them to create and foster cultures of inclusion

Led by an expert-facilitator, the Linkage’s Leading with a Mindset of Inclusion Workshop is built on an important truth: All employees should have access to the same opportunities–and all leaders can contribute to a culture in which that opportunity exists.

This two-part workshop is designed to empower transformative change, beginning with each participant. The Leading with a Mindset of Inclusion Workshop is a full day of hands-on learning, with morning and afternoon learning sessions and a break for lunch.

Module 1 | Unconscious Bias (4 hours)

As humans, we tend to look at the world and those around us through our own lenses, influenced by geography, upbringing, education and many other factors. This bias, both conscious and unconscious, impacts employee engagement, attrition, and the bottom line. Take a deep dive into the topic of unconscious bias to learn important action steps to take to mitigate its effects.

In this session, participants will:

  • Learn how biases are formed
  • Explore how our own conscious and unconscious biases affect behavior—and ultimately hinder business outcomes
  • Understand the impact of privilege and bias on career advancement
  • Identify the role of micro-inequities in our experience of bias
  • Describe and implement methods of mitigating bias

Module 2 | Leading with a Mindset of Inclusion (3.5 hours)

Good intentions and thoughtful decisions don't always lead to fair and inclusive outcomes. During this session, participants will begin to unpack their responsibility to create cultures of inclusion and identify actionable ways to make cultures of inclusions a reality.

In this session, participants will:

  • Explore the responsibilities of leaders to overcome individual and organizational bias
  • Learn how inclusive leadership contributes to business success
  • Reframe people-related leadership decisions as opportunities for inclusion
  • Practice strategies and tools for inclusive leadership
