Mike McGowan

Mike McGowan became region head and chief executive officer of Hilti North America in October 2022 after successful service for many years as general manager of the Eastern US Market Organization. That region consistently ranked in the top five most successful geographies in the global Hilti Group.

Mike joined Hilti in 1988 as a Hilti Store sales associate and was regularly promoted to sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility. Mike’s expertise in product development and marketing was honed during his tenure as head of Hilti North America’s Electric Tools and Accessories business where he was responsible for a multi-million-dollar product portfolio managing product development to supply and quality management to marketing.

Mike is a results-driven leader with proven success in partnering with customers, driving productivity, and developing a diverse and inclusive team.  Mike regularly serves as executive council on strategy development projects for both Hilti North America and the Hilti Group while simultaneously leading his teams through many years of consecutive growth.

Mike now becomes a member of the Hilti Group Executive Management Team. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Towson University and a master’s degree in business from the University of Maryland.

As a long-time community volunteer, Mike was recently named to the Board of Directors of Rebuilding Together, a national non-profit focusing on repairing homes and revitalizing communities so people can stay in their homes. Mike is also a hands-on supporter, along with his team members, of Habitat for Humanity, SBP (the St. Bernard Project) and he volunteers for the Holy Name Society, which focuses on assisting those in need.
