The Institution of Leadership is in Crisis
If you and I are anywhere close to the norm, it means that between 50 and 85 percent of our stakeholders don’t think that we are leading in an engaging, trustworthy or purposeful way. While most of us believe that we are better than average, statistically, half of us are not. Here are three things that we can start doing to build trust today.
Listen, Learn and Lead
When we make a conscious effort to lead inclusively, we incorporate diverse experiences, opinions and perspectives into our decision making. This is the starting point to achieving gender parity in leadership. Today, as we recognize International Women’s Day, I’m reminded of all of the remarkable women leaders in my life and the profound impact that they’ve had on me personally and professionally. I’m also reminded that we have a long way to go to reach gender equality.
Purposeful Leadership is in the news
We’re excited to share that our Purposeful Leadership research is featured in the latest issue of AMA Quarterly. Read an excerpt from: “The 5 Key Commitments of Leadership” (pp 10–13).
