About Courtney:
Courtney Gentleman Schill is an innovative and growth-focused executive, who is passionate about developing relevant and meaningful value propositions, driving incremental growth and expanding brands. She is currently the SVP & Chief Marketing Officer for Payment Solutions at Synchrony. In this role Courtney is responsible for driving growth and setting strategy for the Payment Solutions platform, which serves 60,000+ retail partners in the automotive, furniture, electronics, luxury, sporting goods and home improvement industries.
Background & Experience:
Prior to this role, Courtney was the SVP and CMO for the Lowe’s Home Improvement credit portfolio, where she successfully grew sales by 50% and drove penetration growth by 800 bps during her four years there. Previously, Courtney served as the CMO for Belk, Inc.’s private label credit card program. At Belk, she led marketing strategies focused on driving new account acquisition, growing customer usage and retaining profitable accounts. Courtney has also held several additional roles in small business marketing and new product introduction at General Electric.
Before joining GE, Courtney was Director of Strategic Alliances for the Association for Financial Professionals in Washington, D.C., where she was responsible for identifying joint venture and strategic alliance opportunities for the 10,000-member-strong professional organization.
Courtney is Synchrony’s global Women’s Network+ Leader, a network serving 6,000+ members in the US, India and the Philippines. She is passionate about doing her part to advance women in the workplace. Additionally, she is an active member of the Chicago Board for the nonprofit organization buildOn.
Education & Training:
Courtney holds a BS in Political Science from Villanova University and an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
