Leading Superpowers & Symphony: The Heart of Inclusion

Empower leaders at your organization to become change agents and lead with heart to bring about inclusion in your organization.

Engage your leaders in inclusion training through a blended independent and guided learning experience.

How equipped are your leaders to model inclusion and be active change agents within your organization?

It’s time to create a new movement based on human connection and organizational unity, where everyone’s uniqueness is recognized and cultivated as Superpowers and everyone can contribute at the highest levels.

Leading Superpowers & Symphony: The Heart of Inclusion program welcomes leaders at your organization to become changemakers who can bring out the “Superpowers” of everyone by embracing difference. Through this program, you can equip your leaders with the language, tools and insights they need to communicate, live and lead inclusively with heart in a changing world and advance a new culture of inclusion. Using experiential learning, participants learn engaging and rewarding ways to thrive as leaders in today’s diverse workplace.

This blended program combines independent learning with peer discussions and instructor-led sessions which can be hosted virtually or in person at your organization—allowing you to choose the format that works best for your remote, in-office or hybrid leaders.

Participants will begin by appreciating and understanding their own talents and Superpowers, empowering them to apply this new framework to their organization. Then, they experience the power of Linkage’s learning platform through the independent Workforce Essentials program, which allows leaders to engage with content, activities, case studies, videos and more on their own time. Then, Linkage brings your group of learners together in Leadership Circles, where leaders meet with a small group of their peers to unpack what they have learned, share their own unique experiences, and begin to apply their learnings.

Finally, participants experience two Transformational Leadership Laboratories, one at the midpoint of the program and one at the end, where they have much deeper conversation and critical dialogue hosted by an expert Linkage consultant.

Empowering your leaders to be more inclusive

Consider the impact leadership has on employees and teams—and the ripple effect each leader has on your organization’s culture. Do your leaders know what to do when someone makes an insensitive joke or comment during a meeting? When global and local events have an impact on underrepresented employees, are your leaders able to support them? This program will give leaders the training they need to step up when difficult situations arise and ensure all employees are supported and able to bring their best to work every day.

Beyond the human benefits, organizations with inclusive cultures are 8x more likely to achieve better business outcomes than organizations that do not have inclusive cultures*, making it a business imperative that every leader is equipped with the skills they need to lead inclusively. We can create a new future of inclusive business and robust cultures of inclusion.

A NEW VISION FOR INCLUSION

This program is grounded in Architect and Futurist Oshoke Abalu’s new vision for inclusion: Superpowers & Symphony and is backed by Linkage’s long-term research and work in the diversity, equity and inclusion space. Each module includes ~1-hour of self-paced learning and a Leadership Circle, where peers discuss key concepts in a safe place. At the midpoint and at the conclusion of the program, participants attend Transformational Laboratories led by an expert Linkage guide where they share experience and Superpowers and begin putting their learnings into the practice of Symphony.

Module 1 Re-Language: Superpowers & Symphony

Participants are introduced to the concepts of Superpowers & Symphony (S&S) and begin to appreciate the benefit of inclusion to themselves personally and professionally, as well as to their organization. Within their Leadership Circles, they will explore how to commit to a new way of thinking about diversity.

Module 2 Re-Language: The Four Rs

In this moduleparticipants are introduced to “the Four Rs” (Re-Language, Re-Calibrate, Re-Focus and Re-Unite) as the keys to unlocking Symphony in their organization. In their Leadership Circles, leaders will discuss the concept of “heart”what it means to them, when they have seen leaders display heart, and how they feel when they experience it—and relate heart to their own Compassionate Center.

Module 3 Re-Calibrate

Each person can contribute to Superpowers & Symphony, and in this module, learners are given the knowledge and tools they need to identify what they can personally do to bring about Symphony at their organizations. In this session, we will explore the concept of “bias” as a barrier to creating true inclusion and equityIn their Leadership Circles, participants will discuss how they want to be seen as leaders in their organization and think together about how they can bring that aspiration to life through mindset and behavior changes.

Transformational Laboratory #1 Re-Language and Re-Calibrate

In this Transformational Laboratory, an expert Linkage facilitator brings the learnings from the first three modules into practice by helping learners experience their own authenticity and heart. Through reflection exercises, scenario simulations and small-group exercisesparticipants experience being fully present with heart and discover how to unleash everyone’s Superpowers.

Module 4 Re-Focus: SEE

In this session, participants learn how to communicate inclusively using the SEE (Stop, Explore, Empower) model, which guides them to nurture their own Superpowers—and the Superpowers of their peers. They explore techniques, tools, practices and models that enable them to both discover and enhance their Superpowers and those of others. In their Leadership Circles, they discuss and plan for how they will model SEE in the workplace.

Module 5 Re-Focus: Meet

In this session, participants learn how to use the communication skills of the SEE model to participate in and lead meetings where all employees contribute, and innovation, creativity and progress are nurtured. In their Leadership Circles, participants explore how they might lead more inclusively and see meetings as opportunities to ensure that everyone feels seen as unique and valuable.

Module 6 Re-Unite

Participants commit to making the vision of Superpowers & Symphony a reality through their actions, behaviors and thinking, taking the Superpowers & Symphony pledge. In their Leadership Circles, participants will reflect on the actions they decided to take throughout the program to be seen as an inclusive leader and true changemaker, and help one another plan for how they will Re-Unite in the workplace.

Transformational Laboratory #2 Re-Focus and Re-Unite

In this final Transformational Laboratory, an expert Linkage facilitator guides participants in bringing their learning back to the workplace. Participants confront the challenges and opportunities inherent in working in a diverse culture. Through reflection exercises, simulations, small-group exercises, and honest and brave discussion, participants discover their unique capability as leaders and change agents.
