Frances Hesselbein, President and CEO of Leader to Leader Institute and longtime Linkage partner, was recently profiled in Fortune magazine: Learning from Peter Drucker and the Girl Scouts.
After 13 years as CEO for the Girl Scouts of America, she worked directly with Peter Drucker, who recruited her to run his then called Peter F. Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management (known today as the Leader to Leader Institute) in 1990. At 96 years old, she has since outlived her mentor but remains acting CEO of the institute, which will be renamed in early 2012 as the Frances Hesselbein Leadership Institute. On November 14th, Frances honored Keiko Fujimori with The Frances Hesselbein Excellence in Leadership Award at Linkage’s Women in Leadership Institute™. Since its inception in 2006, this award has been given to honor women who have ignited real change through their leadership.
