National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October 3, 2011

This October, Linkage is going pink in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We will be featuring a series of blog posts on this topic. Now is the time to empower females and remind everyone to be aware of the importance of early detection in this disease.

We aren’t the only organization to promote breast cancer awareness, the National Football League (NFL) is also incorporating pink into their collateral this month and players and coaches will be wearing pink apparel during their games. This Sunday, October 2nd at the Ravens vs. Jets game, Ravens staff and volunteers will distribute pink ribbons to fans in partnership with the American Cancer Society, and their initiative, A Crucial Catch: Annual Screening Saves Lives, which reminds women about the importance of having an annual mammogram.
