This fall, we will welcome hundreds of leaders to Dallas, Texas, as well as virtually, for four days of immersive learning and leadership development at Linkage’s Women in Leadership Institute™ (WIL). Linkage has more than 30 years of excellence, engaging the world’s ascending leaders, top CEOs, humanitarians, educators and revolutionaries who shape our environment, nation and the globe.
The leaders who make up the Linkage Legends in Leadership legacy have one thing in common: They lead with a keen sense of purpose and seek to activate a deeper purpose in those around them.
Each year, Linkage has the distinct pleasure of honoring one such leader who has dedicated their career—and arguably their life journey—to leading through purpose by unlocking purpose in those they coach. This year, by bringing this prestigious session to WIL, we dig into the intersection of purposeful leadership, the advancement of women, and creating cultures of inclusion – three areas we at Linkage are passionate about in our mission to change the face of leadership.
WE ARE THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE THAT ALAN MULALLY WILL SERVE AS WIL’S 2020 “LEGENDS IN LEADERSHIP” FACULTY MEMBER.
This faculty member position is awarded to a trailblazing and innovative leadership strategist who has demonstrated commitment in their career and life to the evolution and lifelong process of becoming a leader, and to inspiring women and diverse populations as an ally. He or she demonstrates a consistent pattern of living out the Five Commitments of Purposeful Leadership® and concentrates current efforts on helping other leaders step more fully into their potential.
Here’s why I am so excited to hear from Alan at WIL: As we strive to meet the challenges of the COVID-19 public health crisis, leaders are being called upon to be more productive, effective, and engaged with their teams than ever before. Alan served as president and chief executive officer of the Ford Motor Company and as a member of Ford’s board of directors from September 2006–June 2014. He led Ford’s transformation into one of the world’s leading automobile companies and the #1 automobile brand in the United States. And he did this in the midst of the worst and longest financial and economic crisis since the Great Depression. In today’s environment, where COVID-19 is creating uncertainty, we look to successful examples of leadership like this to guide us.
On top of that, at Ford, Alan prioritized inclusion of all employees deeply, thoughtfully and broadly in – promoting the business case for diversity at the highest level. He understood, and publicly stated, that “performance will be determined by the breadth and the depth of inclusion of all of our people.” It is important to us at Linkage to continue to support and accelerate the Advancement of Women Leaders during this dynamic and uncertain time.
Throughout his career, Mulally has been recognized for his contributions, industry leadership, and service, including being named #3 on Fortune’s “World’s Greatest Leaders,” one of the 30 “World’s Best CEOs” by Barron’s magazine, one of “The World’s Most Influential People” by Time magazine, and “Chief Executive of the Year” by Chief Executive magazine.
Alan will share his insights with us on leadership and allyship on the main stage at WIL, which will be held November 9–12, 2020, in Dallas, and through our virtual platform. He will be joined by exceptional keynote speakers, including Liz Wiseman, Carla Harris, Molly Fletcher, and others.
I hope to see you there!
