Innovating Your Organization Development and Growth: Lessons from Moneyball

Moneyball is the 2011 motion picture starring Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill that tells the true story of Oakland A’s General Manager Billy Beane’s successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a tight budget by employing computer-generated analysis to draft his players. At a time when buying players was not an option for the A’s, Beane’s method for developing his organization (team) was truly innovative.  In this short video clip, ESPN shares how Beane looked beyond traditional statistics like batting average and RBI to instead rely on overlooked statistics like on-base percentage and slugging percentage.
