Disney’s Jayne Parker Selected to Receive Executive Advocate for Women in Leadership Award

September 28, 2015

Every year, Linkage’s Executive Advocate for Women in Leadership Award is presented to a leader who goes above and beyond his or her job description to support and advance the women leaders in his or her organization. This year, we received a record number of inspiring and heartfelt nominations. One of the award submissions highlighted the incredible work of Jayne Parker, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of The Walt Disney Company. Her broad-reaching impact and pioneering talent development efforts at Disney earned her recognition as this year’s recipient.

In her role as Disney’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Jayne has helped achieve a global workforce of over 50% women. She appointed Disney’s first Chief Diversity Officer and was instrumental in launching Disney’s Global Workplace & Women’s Initiative, a unique effort focused on benefitting women across the organization and improving opportunities for all employees. Jayne has been deeply supportive of Women@Disney and ESPN Women, both of which focus on developing women. In addition, female representation at the highest levels of the organization has increased during Jayne’s tenure. Leslie Ferraro was recently appointed as Co-Chair of Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media and President of Disney Consumer Products, and Christine McCarthy was appointed Disney’s Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Jayne will be honored at a special award ceremony at our Women in Leadership Institute taking place in Phoenix, Arizona, on November 2-5. Join us to hear her incredible story and be inspired to take the next step in your career. Imagine how you can become a champion for the women leaders in your organization. Learn and network with others who are passionate about driving change and building a workforce that empowers each of us to create a lasting leadership legacy.
