Celebrating Our Diversity Thought Leaders and Black History Month

February is Black History Month in the United States—a time to celebrate and reflect on the progress and achievements of the past—it is also a time to reflect on where we stand on issues like diversity, civil liberties, and acceptance.

Al Vivian, President, BASIC Diversity

  • Al’s father Rev. C.T. Vivian was a member of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s executive staff during the civil rights movement
  • Al ran the Advanced Practitioners’ Think Tank at our Leading Diversity Summit in 2009 and 2010
  • In 2011, Al will host a breakout session on “Practical Competence: Putting Cultural Competence to Practical Use”

Donna Brazile, author, professor, and political analyst

Julius Pryor III, General Managing Partner, J Pryor Group

  • Julius has 22 years of experience as a U.S. Navy Officer, serving in the historic re-commissioning crew of the US Missouri (BB-63).
