And the Award Goes To…

August 9, 2016 Rachael Marangu

At the start of each summer, I have the pleasure of reviewing nominations for our Executive Impact Award. I’ve come to eagerly anticipate this process—and find myself quickly immersed in (and humbled by) the stories of remarkable leaders who are creating positive change and lasting impact every day. After careful review and (and sometimes spirited!) debate, our committee selects a leader who demonstrates deep commitment to advancing women leaders, who has ignited and accelerated the growth of women, and who has inspired others—in both his/her organization and community at large.

This year, we received a record number of inspiring and heartfelt nominations. One of the award submissions highlighted the remarkable legacy of Jeannine Rivet, Executive Vice President of United Health Group (UHG). During her 26 years at UHG, Jeannine has been a leader, sponsor, mentor, coach, role model, trailblazer, and staunch advocate for women. Over the course of her career, she has served in a number of different clinical and senior administration roles. In addition to her current position on the executive leadership team, she is actively involved in numerous industry boards.

Jeannine is highly regarded among UHG’s 230,000 employees and in her surrounding community for her efforts to drive quality health care through collaboration and information exchange. She is equally well known for mentoring countless others over the course of her career, for her direct approach to leading others, and for promoting an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing culture.

Jeannine will be honored at an award ceremony on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at our Women in Leadership Institute. Join us to hear her incredible story and be inspired to take the next step in your career. Imagine how you can become a champion for the women leaders in your organization. Learn and network with others who are passionate about driving change and building a workforce that empowers each of us to create a lasting leadership legacy. I hope to see you there!
