This program is intended for any individual contributors whose roles, careers, and lives are being impacted by change. Participants will learn to manage the transition caused by the change with less disruption to their lives.

Program Participants Will:

  • Describe the critical difference between change and transition​
  • Learn to manage endings more successfully ​
  • Begin to move through the Neutral Zone and capitalize on the creativity of that time​
  • Discover ways to cope more effectively with the impact of constant change​
  • Develop an action plan for managing a current transition more successfully

An Innovative Lesson Plan

Unit 1: Change and Transition 

Begin to define the difference between change and transition. Experience hands-on activities on changes in today’s organizations and in our world.

Unit 2: The Transition Process 

Understand the three phases of transition and examine resistance during times of change and experience a hands-on activity on locating yourself in transition.

Unit 3: Managing One Change: Ending 

Examine how to “let go” as part of endings and analyze your personal impact through a hands-on activity. Create a checklist for strategies for managing endings.

Unit 4: Managing One Change: Neutral Zone 

Focus on rebuilding in the Neutral Zone and discover strategies to do so through a hands-on activity. Create a checklist for strategies for managing the Neutral Zone.

Unit 5: Managing One Change: New Beginning 

Uncover strategies on how to achieve a New Beginning and create an action plan to do so in a hands-on activity. Create a checklist for strategies for creating a New Beginning.

Unit 6: Managing Multiple Changes 

Focus on Managing Multiple Changes at once while remaining resilient in hands-on activities. Create a checklist for strategies on managing multiple changes.

Unit 7: Summary and Action Plan 

Summarize the Seven Principles of Transition and discuss steps for moving forward.
