BOSTON, Mass: Linkage, a leading provider of strategic leadership development solutions, has announced that Soledad O’Brien, award-winning journalist, entrepreneur, and host and producer of Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien, will join them at the Women in Leadership Institute™ (WIL) November 9–12, 2020.

Linkage’s Women in Leadership Institute is a four-day immersive learning experience, designed to inspire and equip women leaders with actionable strategies to overcome the hurdles women often face in the workplace.

For the first time ever, the Institute is available virtually, in addition to its traditional face-to-face experience, taking place November 9–12, 2020, in Dallas, TX. Soledad will serve as keynote speaker and faculty member for both the in-person and virtual experience.

“An Emmy-winning reporter, the host of the nationally syndicated political show Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien, and a champion at offering accessible insights from often-divisive issues, Soledad has established herself as one of the most recognized names in broadcasting,” said Jennifer McCollum, CEO of Linkage. “She is exactly the type of role model we seek as Institute keynote speakers and faculty members.”

As the host of the Sunday morning syndicated political show Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien, Soledad goes behind the scenes, telling the stories of the most important issues, people, and events of the day.

“For the hundreds of women who will come together during the Institute this fall, both in-person and virtually, Soledad’s insights will be a catalyst for inspiration,” said McCollum.

A champion of diversity, Soledad gives voice to the underserved and disenfranchised through her Emmy-winning reporting and acclaimed documentary series, Black in America and Latino in America. She is a contributing editor and reports in-depth news magazine pieces for PBS NewsHour, and is a correspondent for HBO Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. A prominent philanthropist, Soledad is the founder of PowHERful, a foundation that mentors and funds college tuition and expenses for young women.

“Soledad is a trailblazer in every sense of the term, making her truly the perfect keynote speaker and faculty member for WIL, which is available virtually for the first time in its two-decade-long history,” said Katharine Panessidi, Director of the Women in Leadership Institute.

Linkage’s Women in Leadership Institute is grounded in Linkage’s Advancing Women Leaders model, which outlines the key competencies women leaders need to be successful in their organizations.

“Soledad embodies Linkage’s Advancing Women Leaders ‘Bold’ competency,” said Panessidi. “Not only does she have amazing brand and presence, but she also continually and powerfully pushes boundaries as a champion of diversity.”

Soledad’s Emmy-winning reporting and acclaimed documentary series, Black in America and Latino in America, examine how attitudes toward race impact society.
