Ken Blanchard on Excellence in Leadership and Management

Presented by Ken Blanchard

Date:

To be an effective leader, how would you behave? One way to answer is to examine these competency areas: Vision and Direction, Equipping People, Positive Consequences and Sustainability. Since leadership is about going somewhere, this is where effective leadership training begins: teaching people in leadership roles how to create a compelling vision that energizes people to get into the habit of forgetting themselves. The important thing about leadership is not what happens when you are there; effective leaders must move people from dependence to independence. In order for leaders to equip people they must understand the dynamics of leadership. Effective leaders need to learn that sustaining performance requires learning the effects of four consequences—No Response, Negative Response, Positive Response, and Redirection.

Participants in this program will learn:

  • The keys to self leadership
  • How to be an effective manager in a one-on-one context
  • The elements of team and organizational leadership
