A new view of strategy focuses on value creation and the
influence of a changing competitive landscape. The forces of deregulation,
technological and industry convergence (e.g. digital photography), emerging
markets, and the internet are creating a new competitive dynamic. This is "a
new game with new rules." Managers have to rapidly learn to understand and
compete in this new environment.
Dr. Prahalad will examine a) the contours of the new competitive environment,
b) the changes in the process by which mangers can create value, c) the need
for a rapid learning curve and an equally important quick "forgetting curve",
