Mark Hannum

A master facilitator, leadership consultant and executive coach, Mark partners with his clients to create better business results that incorporate both organizational justice and effectiveness.  An organization development consultant by training, Mark’s career-long focus has been on understanding and improving executive processes and decision-making.  Through his work with executive teams, leadership teams and shared service organizations primarily, Mark helps his clients in working through tough decisions and dilemmas.  His clients have credited him with assisting in managing through difficult risks, improving business operations and structure, leading and coaching through acquisitions and integrations, and enabling businesses to take advantage of growth opportunities. 

Mark specializes in using the tools and methods of systems dynamics.  He spent much of his early consulting career working as a group problem solving facilitator and systems thinking trainer before moving on to leading organization change efforts and ultimately, acquisitions and integrations.  Along the way, Mark has been involved in many cutting edge business situations and transitions.  He was an early pioneer in the use of computer simulations.  Mark has been both an internal and external consultant and held internal positions as Director of Training, VP and Director of Organization Development, and has headed up a shared services Human Resources operation.  He is also responsible for much of Linkage’s intellectual capital. 

Mark graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy, and earned his Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma before completing the doctoral program ABD.  While at Hanover Insurance, Mark was engaged with the Center for Organizational Learning at MIT’s Sloan School.  He is currently pursuing a doctorate at Boston University in organization development and writing a book with Jillian Maver, Ph.D., on the foundational processes of executive teams.  Mark serves on the board of directors of three for-profit companies and one not-for-profit company in Massachusetts.
