Everybody Wins: The Story and Lessons Behind RE/MAX
New Book by Linkage CEO Phil Harkins Hits #3 on WSJ, #1 on Barnes & Noble
Bestseller Lists
“This book contains important lessons for all organizations that want to become great.” —Warren Bennis
BURLINGTON, MASS. (January 11, 2005) - Linkage, Inc. announces that Everybody Wins: The Story and
Lessons Behind RE/MAX (WILEY: 2005), recently authored by Linkage president and CEO Phil Harkins, has
already landed on several prominent bestseller lists. Just weeks after publication, Everybody Wins reached the
#1 spot on BarnesandNoble.com's Business Book Bestseller List, and remains #7 on that list. The book has also
reached the #3 spot on the Top Ten of the Wall Street Journal list of business book bestsellers. This past week, the
Journal ranked Everybody Wins at #6.
“We're thrilled,” said Harkins, who founded Linkage in 1988. “And we think that Everybody Wins will continue to
resonate within the business community. After all, it provides a new blueprint for driving organizational growth and
succeeding despite all obstacles.”
In Everybody Wins, Harkins and co-author Keith Hollihan examine the business models and leadership practices
of seven high growth/high impact companies. They focus especially on RE/MAX, providing a behind-the-scenes
glimpse at the strategy, culture, and leadership that transformed the company from a shoestring operation teetering
on the brink of collapse into a real estate powerhouse that has enjoyed 380 consecutive months of growth.
“The RE/MAX saga—the story of a huge industry turned upside-down and inside-out by an outrageously bold
dream, incredible tenacity, and uncommon business sense—yields inspiring and practical lessons for all of us,” said
Tom Peters, author of In Search of Excellence.
“Everybody Wins is starting to catch on not just with business readers, but also with the general book-buying
public,” added Linkage senior vice president Russell Sullivan. “I'm not surprised. It's an incredible story that reads
like a novel.”
